2012-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU

0.0000 troy oz 2012 Brilliant Unc

The 2012 Kennedy half dollar from the Denver Mint offers a compelling look at modern American coinage. This particular issue, preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, features the Denver "D" mint mark, signaling its origin from the Colorado facility. The coin is struck on a composite planchet, consisting of an outer layer of copper and nickel bonded to a core of pure copper. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of President John F. Kennedy dominates the design, created by Gilroy Roberts. This side also bears the familiar inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" split across the lower field, along with the 2012 date. The reverse side displays a detailed heraldic eagle, a design by Frank Gasparro. The eagle holds both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing strength and peace. Above the eagle, the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is clearly visible, while the legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the "HALF DOLLAR" denomination frame the central design.
