2012-P ATB Quarter Denali National Park & Reserve BU
In 2012, the Philadelphia Mint produced a striking quarter dollar celebrating the vast wilderness of Alaska's Denali National Park and Reserve. This coin, preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, is part of the America the Beautiful series, which honors the natural wonders and historic sites of the United States. The reverse side of the coin captures a serene yet powerful scene from the subarctic wilderness, featuring a Dall sheep standing in the foreground with the majestic peak of Mount McKinley rising behind it. The inscriptions on this side include the name of the park, "Denali," the state of "Alaska," the year of issue, and the traditional motto "E Pluribus Unum." On the obverse, the coin displays the classic portrait of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the first president's profile are the familiar inscriptions "United States of America," "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the denomination "Quarter Dollar." A small "P" mint mark indicates its origin from the Philadelphia facility.
