The 2012 issue of the African Wildlife series showcases a dynamic reverse illustration of three Somalian elephants navigating through tall grasslands. Because the reverse artwork of this series is updated every single year, this specific multi-elephant composition belongs uniquely to the 2012 release. The obverse displays the official coat of arms of the Somalian Republic, a heraldic design that has graced these coins since their initial release in 2004. Struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this specimen has achieved a high grade of Mint State 69. Although issued for Somalia, the coin was produced under the authority of the Bavarian State Mint in Germany, an institution with a heritage spanning more than 850 years. Legible inscriptions on the surface include AFRICAN WILDLIFE, ELEPHANT, and the purity marker Ag 999 1 oz, alongside the issuing authority SOMALI REPUBLIC and the face value of 100 SHILLINGS.
