2012-W 1 oz Proof American Platinum Eagle PR-70 PCGS

1.0000 troy oz .9995 2012 PCGS

The 2012 edition of the Proof American Platinum Eagle showcases the United States Mint's tradition of updating the reverse imagery on these prestigious coins every year. Struck from one troy ounce of 0.9995 pure platinum, this sovereign coin carries a face value of 100 dollars, backed fully by the United States government. This specific issue had a limited production run, with a final mintage of only 10,084 pieces. On the obverse, a striking close-up portrait of the Statue of Liberty gazes forward, framed by the word LIBERTY and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 2012 year of issue. The reverse design, created by Barbara Fox, honors the Preamble to the Constitution series. It features a resolute Revolutionary War minuteman standing with his rifle, accompanied by the inscribed phrase To Provide for the Common Defense. A small American Eagle privy mark is also integrated neatly along the inner border of the reverse design, while the West Point mintmark is visible as a W.
