2013-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU

0.0000 troy oz 2013 Brilliant Unc

The 2013 Kennedy half dollar stands as a modern tribute to a legacy that has captured the public imagination for decades. Struck at the United States Mint in Denver, this fifty-cent piece carries the distinctive "D" mint mark, signifying its origin. Unlike early silver issues in this long-running series, the composition of this coin consists of a outer layer of copper and nickel bonded securely to a core of pure copper. On the obverse, a detailed profile of John F. Kennedy faces left, a portrait created by sculptor Gilroy Roberts. The design is accompanied by the traditional motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the date of issue. The reverse, sculpted by Frank Gasparro, features a powerful heraldic eagle. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace, while the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is displayed alongside the denomination of "HALF DOLLAR."
