This impressive five-ounce silver coin represents the second design issued in the 2013 America the Beautiful series. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a purity of 0.999 fine silver, the coin carries a face value of twenty-five cents but boasts a massive scale that allows its intricate artwork to shine. To confirm its exceptional quality, the coin has been professionally graded as Specimen 69 (SP-69). The reverse of the coin features a striking depiction of the statue of Master Commandant Oliver Perry, standing before the majestic Peace Memorial. This historic monument, established in Ohio in 1936, is anchored by an immense Doric column reaching 352 feet into the sky. Surrounding this detailed scene are the inscriptions "Perry's Victory", "Ohio", "E Pluribus Unum", and the 2013 year of issue. Unlike standard quarters, the edge of this large-format coin is specially engraved with its weight and silver purity. On the obverse, a familiar portrait of George Washington greets the viewer. This side displays the traditional inscriptions "United States of America", "Liberty", "In God We Trust", and "Quarter Dollar", alongside the "P" mint mark indicating its origin in Philadelphia.
