2013-P ATB Quarter Perry's Victory & Peace Memorial BU
This 2013 quarter dollar from the Philadelphia Mint is a striking entry in the America the Beautiful series. The obverse features the classic likeness of George Washington, originally modeled by John Flanagan. Legible inscriptions on this side include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR," alongside the "P" mint mark. The reverse design transports us to Ohio, depicting the statue of Master Commandant Oliver Hazard Perry with the grand Peace Memorial rising behind him. This site, established as a national park in 1936, honors the leader known as the "Hero of Lake Erie" for his decisive triumph in the Battle of Lake Erie. The reverse is inscribed with "PERRY'S VICTORY," "OHIO," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the 2013 issue date, capturing a pivotal moment of early American history in brilliant uncirculated condition.
