The 2013 American Silver Eagle represents the twenty-seventh year of the United States Mint's premier silver bullion initiative. Struck from one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver, this specimen has been graded in Mint State 69, indicating an exceptionally well-preserved coin with nearly imperceptible imperfections. Although minted in San Francisco, this bullion issue does not display a mint mark, which is standard for the program's bullion strikes. The obverse features the classic depiction of Lady Liberty walking toward a rising sun, a celebrated design originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. She is draped in the American flag, with her right hand outstretched and her left arm cradling branches of laurel and oak. Legible inscriptions on this face include the word LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year of issue, 2013. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle stands beneath a canopy of thirteen five-pointed stars, symbolizing the original colonies. The eagle holds an olive branch in one talon and a cluster of arrows in the other, representing peace and strength. The inscriptions encircling the reverse declare the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, along with the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the coin's weight and face value, denoted as 1 OZ.
