Struck at the West Point Mint, this 2013 fifty-dollar gold coin represents a marriage of historic American sculpture and modern minting precision. The piece contains one troy ounce of gold and has been certified in flawless Mint State 70 condition, representing the highest possible grade for a circulating or collector strike. The obverse features a celebrated design adapted from the historic Gold Double Eagle by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It portrays Lady Liberty in stride, holding a torch to light her way and an olive branch as a symbol of peace, set against a backdrop of rising sun rays. The year 2013 is clearly inscribed alongside this iconic figure. On the reverse, a detailed scene designed by Miley Busiek captures a family of eagles. A male eagle is depicted in flight above a nest, where a female eagle tends to her young. This side of the coin also bears the traditional mottos "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", along with the "W" mint mark indicating its origin at the West Point facility.
