Struck at the West Point Mint, this 2013 gold coin carries a face value of 50 dollars and contains exactly one troy ounce of pure gold content. As a proof strike, it exhibits a sharp contrast between frosted design elements and mirrored fields, certified in an exceptional Proof 69 Deep Cameo condition. The obverse side presents a celebrated American numismatic image, adapted from the historic Gold Double Eagle design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It depicts Lady Liberty walking forward with strength, set against a backdrop of radiating sunbeams. The word LIBERTY and the date 2013 are clearly legible on this face. On the reverse, a detailed scene created by Miley Busiek depicts a male bald eagle soaring through the air while clutching an olive branch, returning to a nest that holds a female eagle and their young.
