Because these burnished editions are struck in smaller quantities than the standard bullion versions, they offer a compelling study in modern minting techniques. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's iconic depiction of Lady Liberty walking toward the dawn, enveloped in the American flag. This side is inscribed with the year 2013 and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle stands beneath a cluster of 13 stars, holding an olive branch and arrows. The West Point Mint mark, a clear W, is visible on this side, alongside inscriptions denoting the weight of one ounce of fine silver and the face value of one dollar.
