The 2014 American Silver Eagle represents the twenty eighth release in the United States Mint's premier annual silver bullion series. This sovereign coin contains exactly one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, with its weight and purity fully guaranteed by the United States government. On the obverse, the design features Adolph A. Weinman's classic depiction of Lady Liberty walking gracefully toward a rising sun. This side is inscribed with the word LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year of issue, 2014. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle beneath a cluster of 13 small stars, representing the original colonies. The inscriptions on this face include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination and metal content, which reads 1 OZ. FINE SILVER ONE DOLLAR.
