In 2014, the United States Mint continued its expansive America the Beautiful series with a special release honoring the vast wetlands of Everglades National Park in Florida. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this twenty-five cent piece showcases a brilliant uncirculated finish that highlights the sharp details of its dual designs. The front of the coin features the familiar profile of George Washington, a classic portrait originally fashioned by sculptor John Flanagan. Surrounding the first president's likeness are the traditional inscriptions denoting the nation, the coin's denomination, and the classic mottos of liberty and faith. The letter P is also visible, indicating its origin from the Philadelphia facility. On the reverse, the coin transports viewers to the unique subtropical wilderness of southern Florida.
