This striking silver quarter, minted in 2014 at the San Francisco Mint, offers a window into the unique wilderness of the Florida Everglades. Part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program, the coin is struck in a high-purity silver alloy containing 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in exceptional Gem Proof condition, its mirrored fields and frosted details bring the intricate artistry of the design to life. The reverse side of the coin transports viewers directly into a wetland sanctuary. It depicts a native anhinga bird perched gracefully upon a branch, while a spoonbill can be seen hunting in the background waters. Surrounding this natural scene are the inscriptions EVERGLADES, FLORIDA, and the traditional national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the 2014 year of issue. On the obverse, the classic portrait of Liberty is accompanied by the familiar inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR. The small S mint mark is also visible, denoting its origin from the San Francisco Minting facility.
