2014-W 1 oz Burnished Gold Eagle MS-70 NGC (Early Releases)

1.0000 troy oz .9167 2014 NGC

In 2014, the West Point branch of the United States Mint produced a striking fifty dollar gold coin that showcases some of the nation's most celebrated numismatic imagery. Struck from one troy ounce of gold, this particular piece has achieved a perfect certified grade of Mint State 70, representing the pinnacle of preservation and manufacturing quality. The front of the coin displays a classic representation of Lady Liberty, adapted from the famous early twentieth-century work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. On this face, Liberty strides forward holding a lit torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both enlightenment and peace. The year 2014 is inscribed alongside this timeless figure. On the reverse, a detailed family scene created by artist Miley Busiek unfolds. A male eagle is depicted in mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle guards their young. This side of the coin carries the traditional mottos "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the weight and denomination markings. The distinct "W" mint mark is also visible, identifying its origin at the West Point facility.
