2014-W 3/4 oz Gold Kennedy 1/2 Dollar Commem PF-70 NGC (FR)
In 2014, a special gold issue marked the fiftieth anniversary of one of America's most recognizable coins. This commemorative piece contains three quarters of a troy ounce of virtually pure gold, struck with a fineness of 0.9999. Backed by the United States Mint, this release offers an impressive, high-purity tribute to a lasting legacy. The front of the coin features the same sculpted portrait of John F. Kennedy that appeared on the very first half dollar in 1964, created by Gilroy Roberts. To mark the half-century milestone, the dual dates of 1964 and 2014 are inscribed directly below the profile. On the back, the design displays Frank Gasparro's rendition of the Great Seal of the United States. An eagle holds an olive branch and arrows, surrounded by stars. Uniquely, the inscription below the eagle specifies the weight and purity of the precious metal, reading as three quarters of an ounce of 0.9999 fine gold.
