Weinman's classic Walking Liberty design is beautifully revived. Lady Liberty is depicted moving gracefully toward a rising sun over a mountain ridge, wrapped in the folds of the American flag. The legible inscriptions on this face include the word LIBERTY, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year of issue, 2015. The reverse side, created by John Mercanti, displays a powerful heraldic eagle positioned beneath a cluster of 13 small stars. This layout is directly inspired by the Great Seal of the United States, with the stars symbolizing the nation's original thirteen colonies. The eagle holds an olive branch and arrows in its talons, with a ribbon in its beak bearing the phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM. The outer rim is inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination, ONE DOLLAR.
