Struck in 2015, this legal tender silver coin from the Central Bank of Armenia captures a famous biblical narrative. The piece contains one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver and carries a face value of 500 Drams. It belongs to the celebrated Noah's Ark series, which honors the traditional story of the ark finding its final resting place on the peaks of Mount Ararat after the waters of the great deluge receded. On the obverse, the coin displays the official coat of arms for the Republic of Armenia, featuring a lion and an eagle positioned back-to-back. This side also includes the 2015 issue year, the nominal face value, and the weight and purity specifications. The reverse, created by designer Eduard Kurghinyan, presents a detailed scene of a dove flying with an olive branch in its beak. In the background, Noah's vessel floats upon the vast floodwaters under a rising sun, with the prominent silhouette of Mount Ararat towering behind it.
