Issued by the United States government in 2015, this clad commemorative half dollar celebrates the long legacy of the U.S. Marshals Service. Struck at the Denver Mint with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish, the coin features a copper-nickel outer layer bonded to a solid copper core. The obverse design bridges the past and present of America's oldest federal law enforcement agency. It depicts a historic Old West marshal alongside his horse, juxtaposed with a modern female marshal outfitted in tactical gear. The inscriptions include the year of issue, 2015, and the classic motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, the coin displays a powerful depiction of Lady Justice. She is shown holding the traditional scales of justice alongside the iconic star of the U.S. Marshals Service. The reverse also bears the national motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the face value, HALF DOLLAR, under the name of the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
