2015-P ATB Quarter Blue Ridge Parkway BU
In 2015, the Philadelphia branch of the United States Mint released a striking entry in the America the Beautiful series, celebrating the scenic vistas of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This particular specimen is preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition, offering a crisp look at a design that honors one of the nation's most famous roadways. The reverse side of the coin captures the essence of the parkway as it snakes through the North Carolina highlands. It features a curved road hugging the mountainside, framed by lush foliage and a distant view. This side bears the inscriptions of the location name, North Carolina, the year 2015, and the traditional motto E Pluribus Unum. On the obverse, the familiar portrait of George Washington originally created by John Flanagan takes center stage. Surrounding the first president's likeness are the essential national inscriptions, including United States of America, Liberty, In God We Trust, and the face value of Quarter Dollar. A small P mint mark is also visible, denoting its origin from the historic Philadelphia facility.
