In 2015, the West Point Mint produced a special version of the United States flagship silver dollar, distinguished by its unique burnished finish. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle holds an olive branch and arrows beneath a canopy of 13 small stars, representing the original colonies. This side of the coin also displays the weight and purity, reading "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" alongside the face value of "ONE DOLLAR" and the country name, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". Because it is a sovereign coin, its weight of one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver and its legal tender status are fully backed by the United States government.
