2015-W High Relief American Liberty Gold MS-69 PCGS

1.0000 troy oz .9999 2015 MS-69 (PCGS)

In 2015, the United States Mint released a striking modern interpretation of classic American iconography with the American Liberty high-relief coin. Struck at the West Point Mint, this legal-tender coin carries a face value of 100 dollars and is composed of one troy ounce of 0.9999 fine gold. The high-relief format elevates the artistry, allowing the details of the design to rise dramatically from the surface of the coin. The obverse, designed by Justin Kunz, presents a contemporary vision of Lady Liberty. She is depicted standing tall, holding a traditional torch in one hand and an American flag in the other. Surrounding this central figure are the essential inscriptions "Liberty" and the national motto "In God We Trust." This side also bears the date 2015. On the reverse, artist Paul Balan captures a powerful American eagle in mid-flight, its talons gripping an olive branch as a symbol of peace. The detailed feathers and dynamic pose of the bird showcase the depth of the high-relief strike. The reverse inscriptions clearly state the issuing authority and the coin's specifications, reading "United States of America," "1 oz. 0.9999 Fine Gold," and "One Hundred Dollars," alongside the traditional motto "E Pluribus Unum." This particular specimen is certified in Mint State 69, representing an exceptionally well-preserved example of this modern gold issue, which had a total mintage of 49,325 pieces.
