In 2015, the United States Mint released a remarkable high-relief gold coin that offers a modern interpretation of classic American symbols. Struck at the West Point Mint, this piece contains one troy ounce of 99.99 percent pure gold. The coin has been graded in perfect Mint State 70 condition, highlighting the exceptional detail achieved by the high-relief minting process. The obverse side features a contemporary depiction of Lady Liberty. Designed by Justin Kunz, she is shown holding a staff with the American flag in one hand and a lit torch in the other. The word LIBERTY is prominently displayed alongside the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST, with the year 2015 anchoring the design. On the reverse, artist Paul Balan captured a powerful image of an American eagle soaring through the air while clutching an olive branch. The inscriptions surrounding the eagle include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the denomination of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, and the weight and purity designation of 1 oz. 0.9999 FINE GOLD. The Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM is also present, completing a design that was produced in a limited mintage of 50,000 pieces.
