In 2015, the United States Mint released a remarkable modern masterpiece that reimagines classic American iconography through contemporary artistry. Struck in one troy ounce of exceptionally pure 0.9999 fine gold, this one-hundred-dollar coin stands out for its high-relief format, which gives the struck elements a dramatic, sculptural depth. The obverse of the coin presents a modern interpretation of Lady Liberty. Designed by Justin Kunz, she is depicted holding a staff with an American flag in one hand and a lit torch in the other, symbolizing guidance and freedom.
