2016 1/10 oz Gold Eagle MS-70 NGC (30th Anniversary, Red Ribbon)
This modern five-dollar gold coin represents a milestone year for one of America's most recognizable bullion programs. Minted in 2016, this piece marks the thirtieth anniversary of the American Eagle series, which first debuted in 1986. Containing one-tenth of an ounce of gold, the coin is certified at the highest possible grade of Mint State 70, preserved in a protective capsule to maintain its pristine condition. The obverse displays a classic depiction of Lady Liberty moving forward, backlit by the radiating rays of the sun. On the reverse, the design illustrates a family of bald eagles, showing a male eagle in flight bearing an olive branch toward a nest containing a female and their young. Legible inscriptions on the surface include the mottoes IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the country of issue, the year 2016, and the legal tender value of 5 DOLLARS. Backed by the United States Mint, this issue had a total worldwide mintage of 925,000 pieces.
