Struck from one ounce of gold with a purity of 0.9167, this coin is graded Mint State 69, indicating an almost flawless strike with exceptional eye appeal and luster. On the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty walks forward, bathed in the rays of a rising sun. This iconic image is adapted from the famous 1907 Gold Double Eagle design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The word LIBERTY is inscribed above her, and the year 2016 is clearly marked to her right. The reverse displays a heartwarming scene of a bald eagle family, created by Miley Busiek. A male eagle is depicted in mid flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female and their young await.
