The year 2016 marked a significant milestone for the United States Mint's premier silver bullion program, celebrating three decades of this annual release. Struck from one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver, this specimen has been certified in the highly collectible grade of Mint State 69, indicating a nearly flawless strike with exceptional eye appeal. On the obverse, the design revives a classic American motif originally created in 1916. Lady Liberty is depicted in a graceful stride, draped in the folds of the national flag, walking toward a rising sun that peeks over a mountain ridge. The legends on this side include the word LIBERTY and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the 2016 year of issue. The reverse features a powerful heraldic eagle positioned behind a central shield. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, while holding a banner in its beak inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. Hovering above the eagle are 13 five-pointed stars, arranged to represent the original American colonies. The outer rim is inscribed with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination, 1 OZ.
