The 2016 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, continues a long-running tradition in American coinage. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the sharp details of a coin that never entered general circulation. Structurally, the coin is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper, a standard composition for modern United States circulating coinage. On the obverse, the profile of President John F. Kennedy faces left, a design originally rendered by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned below the portrait, split by the base of the bust. The year 2016 is anchored at the bottom rim, with the "P" mint mark positioned just above the date, indicating its origin at the Philadelphia facility. The reverse side features the detailed heraldic eagle design by Frank Gasparro. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace.
