2016 (S) Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC (Golden Gate Bridge Label)
The year 2016 marked three decades of the iconic American Eagle silver bullion program. To celebrate this milestone, the San Francisco Mint struck this one dollar coin containing one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver. The issue brings together two renowned traditions of American coinage design, certified in a high-grade state of preservation. On the obverse, the classic Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman shows Lady Liberty moving toward the dawn, draped in the national flag. The inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "2016" are clearly legible. The reverse, created by John Mercanti, displays a heraldic eagle reminiscent of the Great Seal of the United States. In this powerful image, the eagle grasps arrows and an olive branch while supporting a banner inscribed with "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Hovering above the eagle are thirteen small stars, representing the original colonies that formed the nation.
