Struck in three ounces of 0.999 fine silver, the coin features an exceptionally deep maximum relief that gives the legendary figures a remarkable three-dimensional presence. The detailed obverse design centers on Odin, the supreme ruler of the Aesir tribe. In Norse tradition, Odin is a complex deity associated with royalty, battle, healing, death, sorcery, poetry, runes, and the pursuit of knowledge. He is depicted seated and grasping his legendary spear, Gungnir. Surrounding the chief deity are his loyal companions: the twin ravens Huginn and Muninn, who fly throughout the world to bring him information, and his two fierce wolves, Geri and Freki. The scene also references the Valkyries, the mythical female figures who determine which warriors fall in battle.
