Struck in 2016, this exceptional gold coin marks the 75th anniversary of the historic attack on Pearl Harbor. Crafted by the Perth Mint, the piece is composed of one-tenth of an ounce of highly pure 0.9999 fine gold. It carries a face value of 15 Dollars and is backed as official legal tender by the government of Tuvalu. The reverse side of the coin displays a detailed scene featuring two military aircraft soaring through the sky above Pearl Harbor, with battleships positioned in the waters below. This side also includes the inscription commemorating the 75th anniversary alongside the Roman numerals for 1941 (MCMXLI). On the obverse, the coin bears the classic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Surrounding the royal likeness are inscriptions indicating the year 2016, the weight of one-tenth of an ounce, the 0.9999 gold purity, and the 15 Dollar denomination.
