Struck by the Perth Mint, this 2016 release marks three quarters of a century since the historic military strike at Pearl Harbor. The legal tender issue, authorized by the government of Tuvalu, is minted from one troy ounce of highly refined 0.9999 fine silver. Its brilliant uncirculated finish highlights a dramatic composition of military history on a small canvas. The reverse side captures a tense scene of twentieth-century warfare, depicting a pair of aircraft soaring through the sky above the harbor while naval battleships sit positioned in the waters below. This side also features the commemorative inscription referencing the historic location. On the obverse, the coin displays the classic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley.
