In 2016, the United States Mint celebrated a major milestone in American numismatics by reissuing one of its most celebrated designs. This special release marks the 100th anniversary of the classic 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, rendering the historic artwork in a modern format. Struck at the West Point Mint in New York, this coin is composed of a half ounce of 24-karat gold with an exceptional purity of 0.9999. The obverse features Lady Liberty draped in the American flag, gracefully moving toward the dawn of a new day while cradling branches of laurel and oak in her arm.
