2016-W Burnished Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC (First Releases)
The year 2016 marked three decades of the iconic American Eagle silver series. To celebrate this milestone, the United States Mint released a special version featuring a distinct burnished finish and a unique lettered edge. Struck at the West Point facility, this sovereign coin contains one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver and carries a face value of one dollar, backed fully by the federal government. The obverse features a classic depiction of Lady Liberty draped in the national flag, moving gracefully toward a rising sun over a mountain ridge. The inscriptions include the year 2016 and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle is displayed beneath an arrangement of thirteen small stars. The West Point Mint mark, a small W, is positioned directly below the eagle. This specific specimen has been certified in outstanding Mint State 69 condition, preserving the satin-like luster of its specialized burnished surface.
