2017 1 oz Gold Buffalo MS-70 PCGS (FirstStrike®, Buffalo Label)
Introduced by the United States government, the 2017 fifty-dollar sovereign gold coin showcases a celebrated design legacy. This piece is struck from one troy ounce of exceptionally pure 0.9999 fine gold. It has been certified in the highest possible grade of Mint State 70 (MS-70), indicating a coin of flawless preservation. The imagery on this coin is a direct adaptation of the famous 1913 Buffalo Nickel created by sculptor James Earle Fraser. The front of the coin displays a powerful right-facing profile portrait of a Native American man, accompanied by the inscription of the word "LIBERTY" and the year of issue, 2017. A small "F" is also visible below the date, acknowledging the designer's surname. The reverse features a massive American bison standing in profile. This side is inscribed with the issuing nation, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", along with the traditional mottos "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST". The bottom of the reverse records the technical specifications of the piece, reading "1 OZ. 0.9999 FINE GOLD" alongside the face value of "$50".
