Backed by the People's Bank of China, these coins are produced across various facilities, including locations in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang. Interestingly, these Chinese mints generally omit mintmarks from their strikes, though subtle variations in font size, date placement, or temple details can sometimes distinguish the different production origins. On the obverse, the coin displays the magnificent Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, located within Beijing's historic Temple of Heaven complex. This side is inscribed with the Chinese characters representing the People's Republic of China, along with the 2017 year of issue.
