The piece was produced by the Banco de México at the Casa de Moneda de México, which holds the distinction of being the oldest active minting institution on the continent. This particular specimen has achieved a perfect certified grade of Mint State 70 (MS-70), denoting its pristine condition and flawless strike. The obverse of the coin features the modern Mexican National Shield at its center, surrounded by the inscription "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS". Encircling this central emblem are ten historical versions of the national coat of arms, tracing the symbolic evolution of the nation over time. On the reverse, the design showcases the Winged Victory statue, a prominent monument in Mexico City. In the background, the peaks of two famous Mexican volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, rise into the sky. The reverse also displays the weight, purity, and year of issue, inscribed as "1 ONZA ORO PURO 2017 LEY 0.999", alongside the historic "Mo" mint mark of the Mexico City Mint.
