2017 Niue 1 oz Silver $2 Disney Bambi 75th Anniversary
In 2017, a special silver coin was minted to mark three quarters of a century since the 1942 release of the animated classic, Bambi. This legal tender release, backed by the government of Niue, carries a face value of two dollars and contains one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver. The production of this commemorative issue was limited to 10,000 pieces. One side of the coin brings a nostalgic scene to life, showcasing the young deer Bambi alongside his memorable forest companions, Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. The opposite side displays the classic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, alongside the issuing country, the year 2017, and the denomination.
