2017-S Proof American Silver Eagle PR-70 PCGS (FDI)

---

In 2017, the San Francisco Mint struck a special edition of the American Silver Eagle, marking the first time in five years that the facility produced a proof version of this iconic silver dollar. This particular coin has been graded in perfect Proof 70 condition, highlighting the flawless execution of its classic design elements and its mirror-like finish. The obverse features Lady Liberty wrapped in the American flag, moving toward a rising sun over a mountain ridge. The reverse displays a traditional heraldic eagle positioned beneath thirteen small stars. The "S" mint mark on the reverse indicates its origin at the San Francisco Mint. This specific release carried an exceptionally limited mintage of just 75,000 coins. Adding to its intrigue, this coin was not sold individually at its launch; instead, it was originally obtainable only by purchasing the specialized Congratulations Set, making it a highly sought-after modern issue for enthusiasts studying the history of the series.
