Struck in Germany at the Bavarian State Mint, this modern silver coin is part of a series celebrated for changing its reverse design with every annual release. The 2017 edition showcases a detailed scene of an elephant journeying across the Serengeti landscape. In the background, a traditional grass hut, a coconut tree, and a rising sun complete the striking African vista. On the other side, the coin features the official coat of arms for the Somali Republic. This side also displays the 2017 year of issue and the face value of 100 Shillings.
