2017 South Africa 1 oz Silver Krugerrand SP-69 NGC (FDI)
In 2017, the South African Mint marked a major milestone by releasing its first-ever premium uncirculated Silver Krugerrand. This historic issue celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the world-renowned Krugerrand series, introducing a silver version of the iconic design to collectors worldwide for the very first time. The obverse of the coin displays the profile of Paul Kruger, a prominent historical figure in South Africa. On the reverse, the spirited Springbok antelope bounds across the African landscape. Positioned just above the antelope is a special circular privy mark containing the number 50, a direct nod to the half-century legacy of the coin series. The reverse also displays the year 2017, the face value of 1 Rand, and the silver weight. Struck from one ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this particular coin has been certified in Specimen 69 condition. It also carries a First Day of Issue designation, confirming it was received for grading within the initial twenty-four hours of its release.
