2017-W 1 oz Burnished Gold Eagle (w/Box & COA)
2017-W 1 oz Burnished Gold Eagle (w/Box & COA)
The 2017 Burnished Gold Eagle represents a distinctive method of manufacture from the West Point Mint in New York. Unlike standard bullion or highly reflective proof issues, this specimen features a specialized burnished finish, giving the precious metal a satin-like, matte appearance that highlights the fine details of the engraving. On the obverse, the design draws inspiration from the historic gold double eagle created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It depicts Liberty in stride, holding an illuminated torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, illustrates a family of eagles, showing a male bird in flight returning to a nest that holds a female eagle and their young. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national mottos E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the weight and face value of 50 dollars.
