This striking silver coin from 2018 brings together two distinct themes on a single canvas. Struck by the Perth Mint, the piece features the iconic native Australian kookaburra in flight against a nocturnal sky. Tucked into the reverse design is a special, miniature privy mark depicting a Labrador Retriever, a nod to the Lunar Year of the Dog. This reverse face also bears the inscription "AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA" alongside the traditional "P" mint mark and the 2018 year of issue. The opposite side of the coin presents the classic profile of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, along with the official face value of 1 Dollar. Backed by the government of Australia, this modern issue contains one troy ounce of highly pure 0.9999 fine silver.
