Introduced in 2007 by the Perth Mint, the Australian Silver Koala series has captured the imagination of collectors worldwide through its ever-changing annual depictions of one of Australia's most beloved marsupials. The 2018 release continues this tradition with a beautifully detailed reverse design showing a single koala nestled on a eucalyptus branch, framed by delicate gum leaves. This side also bears the inscriptions 'Australian Koala', the year 2018, the weight of one ounce, the purity of 0.9999 silver, and the traditional 'P' mint mark representing the Perth Mint. The obverse of this legal tender coin displays the classic effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, alongside the face value of 1 Dollar. Backed fully by the Australian government, this specific issue is struck from one troy ounce of highly refined silver.
