In 2018, the Austrian Mint continued its captivating Guardian Angels series by dedicating a ten-euro coin to Uriel. This issue followed the 2017 releases of Michael and Gabriel, sharing the 2018 release year with Raphael. Struck in 0.925 fine silver with a precious metal weight of 0.4625 troy ounces, this piece is backed by the government of Austria and has a limited mintage of 30,000 pieces. The obverse of the coin presents a stylized representation of Uriel, featuring flames rising from a brazier that are elegantly framed by the letter U. A striking yellow vine motif adds a touch of color to this side of the coin. The inscription "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" and the face value of "10 EURO" are also present on this side. On the reverse, the design showcases a detailed adaptation of a historic stained-glass window designed by artist Selwyn Image. This artwork portrays Uriel as a youthful figure with a halo, holding a stylized sun inscribed with the word "Sol." The intricate design brings the classic glasswork to life on a polished silver surface, offering a beautiful blend of historical art and modern minting techniques.
