2018 GB 1 oz Silver Landmarks of Britain (Tower Bridge)
2018 GB 1 oz Silver Landmarks of Britain (Tower Bridge)
This 2018 silver coin represents the second release in a four-part series from The Royal Mint celebrating the Landmarks of Britain. Struck in one ounce of 0.999 fine silver, the piece highlights one of London's most recognizable engineering marvels, Tower Bridge. Built between 1886 and 1894, the historic bascule and suspension bridge is captured here in a fresh, artistic light. For this series, designers Laura Clancy and Glyn Davies created an impressionistic view of Tower Bridge on the reverse, offering a unique perspective on the famous crossing. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II set against a modern, textured guilloche pattern. Along with the royal effigy, the obverse displays the official face value of 2 pounds. Backed by the British government, this Brilliant Uncirculated issue was limited to a worldwide mintage of 50,000 pieces.
