The reverse side of the coin honors Voyageurs National Park, a protected area established in 1975 that derives its name from the intrepid French-Canadian fur traders of the region's past. Inscriptions on this side include the name of the park, the state of Minnesota, the year 2018, and the traditional motto, "E Pluribus Unum."
