2018 South Africa 1 oz Silver Krugerrand MS-70 NGC (ER)
The Krugerrand is one of the most famous names in global coinage, tracing its origins back to July 3, 1967, when the original gold version debuted as the world's pioneer gold bullion piece. Decades later, the South African Mint expanded this iconic series by introducing its very first Brilliant Uncirculated silver edition. This 2018 issue represents that landmark inaugural release, struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver and certified in flawless Mint State 70 condition. One side of the coin honors Paul Kruger, the initial and sole president of the South African Republic. His profile is accompanied by the name of the issuing nation written in both Afrikaans and English. The opposite side showcases a springbok antelope, a swift and graceful animal recognized as the national symbol of South Africa. This side also displays the 2018 production year, the face value of 1 Rand, and the weight of the fine silver content.
