On the obverse, the coin displays a powerful depiction of Lady Liberty. She stands with her hair blowing in the wind, holding a lit torch in her right hand to represent enlightenment and an olive branch in her left hand as a symbol of peace. The West Point 'W' mint mark is visible on this side, designating its origin. The reverse features a detailed wildlife scene where a male bald eagle is captured mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and their young await.
