The reverse side of the coin honors the Year of the Pig with a detailed portrayal of a domesticated pig set against a backdrop of stylized foliage, rocks, and a blooming peony flower. This design also incorporates the Chinese character representing the pig, the English phrase "Year of the Pig", and the traditional "P" mint mark belonging to the Perth Mint. Because the reverse artwork in this series changes annually to reflect the Chinese lunar calendar, this particular design remains unique to the 2019 issue. On the obverse, the coin displays the classic effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
